AOI.CYCLE is a bicycle design and manufacturing company which helps redefine the notion of elegant cycling in daily life. The corporate ethos is to create timeless and refined products, crafting every bicycle in a meticulous manner, even with the considered integration of new technologies.
Beyond AOI.CYCLE’s unique frame design, our signature bicycle frames are constructed from stainless steel. Aerospace-grade welding techniques strengthen each frame before it is carefully polished to preserve its metallic luster.

HISTORY
AOI.CYCLE, a Taiwanese brand, is a beautiful anomaly in a bicycle market dominated by large manufacturers. The brand upholds refined industrial design and mechanical expertise, creating elegant, purely handmade “craft bicycles” piece by piece.
AOI.CYCLE was established in 2010 by industrial designer Ken Aoi in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. His family-owned factory has a 40-year history specializing in mechanical design and metal processing, including the development of aerospace equipment with AIDC. Fascinated by design and machining from an early age, Ken enrolled in design college to deepen his practice in industrial design.
PHILOSOPHY
Inspired by the curve of a rider’s arched back, Ken adapted the traditional diamond bicycle structure into a streamlined open framework that distinguishes AOI.CYCLE from other bicycle styles.
The century-old diamond structure was reconsidered as three elements: the top tube, the seat tube to the bottom tube, and the rear triangle. This approach creates a more streamlined appearance and distributes forces evenly from the seat tube through the bicycle, reducing turbulence and increasing comfort.
After graduating in 2010, Ken returned to his hometown to take over the family business and put his idea of the “craft bicycle” into practice.
TEAM
AOI.CYCLE is a small, strong and creative team based in a 40-year-old metalwork factory in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. In 2017, we expanded with a new building for offices, display, frame building and assembly.
Our teammates come from architecture, shipbuilding and mechanical engineering. Each works as an apprentice for years before working independently. We test and use our bicycles every day, constantly exchanging ideas to improve AOI.CYCLE.
We share the belief that the touch of craft should not be superseded by technology. New tools can accelerate work, but the details must be completed by hand so each product is uniquely made with care.
