On the second weekend in March it was time again: Germany’s most beautiful bicycle fair, Cyclingworld Europe , opened its doors for 3 days. On more than 65,000 square meters of festival space and 18,000 square meters of exhibition space, 283 exhibitors with more than 400 brands showed what they have to offer. And that was a lot. The entire range of bikes and accessories could be discovered in several halls. There was something new and tried and tested, plus plenty of test opportunities on the test track. And then there were the bikes for the eye. For me, a perfect touring bike is enough, but of course the designer heart wants more, and so the material wood is used, among other things.

AOI.CYCLE – frames as a feast for the eyes

Instead of the classic diamond frame shape, founder and designer Ken Aoi lovingly created a symbiosis of durable stainless steel frames from Taiwan with Danish wood craftsmanship, assembled in Germany and Denmark. The longevity of the bikes in terms of sustainability is particularly important to him. “It’s a bicycle for your life, that’s why we use stainless steel!” he reveals to me in an interview.
